Hunting a trashy party boat tie off, with Atx's pappy.

Long time party sandbar at a fresh water lake. (Yellow Beach) Oh, it's been hunted in the past Loaded I mean loaded with pull tabs, great number of them beaver tails. Lots of rumors of lost Treasure in this area. Been there 6-7 times this summer. First hunts, mostly tabs, caps, not much clad. Then about the 5th hunt had a gold/silver ring day. Last couple of hunts , no treasure, but clad count going up. As the site is starting to show signs of being read up. Been using the 8" mono on the Infinium, but should be able to switch back to the 14" in a couple more hunts. Now this site is the best, and handest for me me to hunt. Need a boat to hunt it. But it's by no means as productive a lot of you guys hunt. Even so I got t believe there's got to be another piece of gold or two in that mess. I think taking it apart is some of the fun. I gotta believe it's going t happen.

Way to go Dancer. I also hunt a party sandbar on a nearby lake. Tons of pulltabs, shotgun shell brass (which hit just like a gold ring), and bottle caps galore. I've been using the AT Pro for the past couple of years. Have pulled 10 rings out even though the area is hunted by others. I just ordered an Infinium and am not sure what to expect with the PI but am hoping to get deeper and older stuff. What do you think?

Once you get onto the tones you'll be ok. While your waiting watch the Garrett videos, if you haven't already. It's not going to discriminate like your Pro, but that's ok too. On my sandbar, there can be some deep sand, other areas, one scoop down to the clay. Your going to be doing a lot of digging, iron , boat parts , etc. The iffy, signals, and some deeper stuff. The PI is a different animal, just don't get discouraged. I would be thrilled to get half what you found on your reef. Need some help sometime, Ill try to help, but just about everyone here has more experience than me.
Good luck !

I'm doing the same thing with a big field by my house - digging everything there is until there is no more. I already did the high conductors and got some silver, now it's the low conductors that will be the real challenge. Waiting on my new digger before I start the monumental task. I'm confident there is gold to be had. Good luck guys

Thanks for the encouragement and advice. I'll try real hard to be patient. Got ring number 11 from the sandbar today with the AT Pro. It was a tungsten wedding band but hey, it's a ring. The depth of the sand fluctuates due to the wind and waves as it probably does on your sandbar too. The shotguns shells are usually in the clay beneath the sand. The ring today was on a volleyball court that I'm told is detected every morning by someone else. I never let that stop me. As they say, no place is ever hunted out!
