Hunting a recently closed school/athletic field ..

Would be interested to know what some of you are setting your AT Pro's at for hunting these types of spots. My first thought was to hunt in my every day setting, Pro/Zero, but I am more interested in finding lost jewelry, class rings etc.. So maybe set it to discriminate out everything but targets in the nickel/pulltab range. I can always go back some other time to find coins ... Thanks !

Some of that jewelry can fool you and hit pretty high not to mention the sterling silver stuff which will hit like a good coin. I'd just go for it all!

one setting for all. zero disc, iron 35, dig any thing above 40 or that sounds interesting!!! some small gold comes in around mid 20's-30's. Just my way of hunting. good luck and keep us posted.

In high trash i hunt Pro zero while toggling the iron audio on and off at times. Will also reduce sensitivity to focus on those surface targets if I'm wanting to avoid digging and to avoid all that trash. Sure, I'm missing stuff, but popping coins is much faster. It is better for avoiding damaging dry grass, too.

Pro Zero, No Iron Disc, Iron Audio on, dig ALL solid repeatable signals above 40

HH,

I still hunt in zero mode, iron audio set at 40 for iron-audio. if it's too trashy, I switch the iron audio off. Slow is the way to go when trashy.

Pro Zero 35 iron. If its dry I hunt water or dont hunt at all. I hate coming back to a park with lil brown circles eveywhere. Plus when its wet you get so much more depth, and a lot easier/faster to dig. Since i got my 5x8 i havent used the stock coil. If i lost depth from stock i cant really tell. Its so much easier to hunt trashy ares with the smaller coil.
