Hunting a new place.

It was a beautiful morning but I got out late--10 A.M. as I wanted to hunt an old park I only did a cursory job on. When I got there it was filled with little leaguers and tennis players along with many families with kids. That idea shot, I decided to hunt an aea near an old church that was said to be a place where a school once was. I hunted awhile, found a homeless site in the woods, so avoided that area, but then hit a few interesting things near the entrance to the graveyard. One was my first Liberty nickel in very bad shape, but the date is clear 1906. Also found a 1944 copper wheat cent and a few newer newer copper pennies. I also found a bullet (unless its a flag tip), a shotgun shell (Remington UMC Nitroclub) and something that maybe someone could tell me what it is.

Great group of finds, wish this ice and snow would let go in the North East.

It's a bullet, looks like a 30-06 fmj.

you are in a great spot to be finding things like that , I see a 5$ gold coin coming out of that spot ,

I think thats a black powder shell. Its ashamed those old nickles come out looking like that. I find more old nickles than any other old coin.

I think the people who lived around there were too poor to have gold coins. I will go back with high DISC and look for silver, though.
