Hunted today with a few friends...managed a couple of decent finds

Got out for a few hours today and hit an old park which has produced some of my best coin finds in the past, but where finds are really thin at this point. I hunted with a few friends; it was nice to be in good company, but as usual, the good finds were hard to come by. A Merc and a few of wheaties were dug by one of my partners; I managed a '52 wheat, two "V" nickels (1902 and 1906), a 1-mil tax token, and an old copper ring (which was probably plated at one time). I was glad to bring home a few more keepers from this park, glad to hunt with some good friends, and glad the weather held up long enough for us to get a few good hours in!

(Sorry about the lack of pics; I'll try to add some later...)

Its always nice to get out with friends.... makes every find exciting. Not to mention those bragging rights and the end of the day. Getting harder to find places more than one person at a time can hunt without ticking off the tree huggers who bring their dogs to poop in the park and their kids to destroy the play grounds.

C'mon Steve ... I want to see more seated coins !! Always more fun hunting with friends. We are seeing temps in the 50's and 60's finally .. hopefully it's here to stay !

Friends make it more worthwhile.

McDave -- no more seateds for me, for awhile, I don't think! :) Maybe when I go back home this summer (PA)...but not many seateds to be found in OK! Glad you are having the good weather.

Yeah, dew...I know just the folks you are talking about. I've had a run-in or two with them, myself...amazing.

Anyway, here's a pic...

(Oh, and Ed -- I'd dig nothing but nickels ALL YEAR, if I got to dig a mint-condition Quarter Eagle!!! I'm sure you feel the same way! You and that find REALLY have me fired up right now! :) )

Good hunt. I have a hard time hunting without like-minded compadres anymore. The finds truely come secondary. JJ
