I was heading to an old Federal Style house to ask about detecting when I saw an elderly gentleman who just finished picking tomatoes out in his yard. I stopped and introduced myself, asked permission and we visited for a bit. I then went to detecting while he was back and forth taking tomatoes to the neighbors and in and out of his house. The yard was very nice digging with little trash and sandy, loose soil. The coins came out of the ground in great condition. I ended up with an 1898 V Nickel, 1914 Buffalo Nickel, a 1943 D Mercury Dime, a 1908 Indian Head Penny, Old Wheaties ranging from 1913 to 1929, a 1776-1886 Centennial Suspender Buckle with the rear clasp intact and the usual clad. I also dug a large gold plated men's ring which I gave to the gentleman. You should have seen the look on his face! Priceless!
