Hunted a Union campsite today.

Got an invitation to hunt a Union campsite today up in Caroline Co. Va. The other relic hunter showed me some of his finds from this camp to include a very nice R.I. button. I found this one piece milita button...a 1919 wheat cent, thimble, and a few other things. Thanks for looking.

Wow that's nice. Good work...

Thanks for the replies. We were out in a MASSIVE, fresh cut bean field. Digging doesn't get any better than this. This spot has at least a few years of hunting in it...not to mention the surrounding woods, which has a few 1800's homesites I am told.

Cool button buddy. HH

What a button ! I will do some research and try and provide more info on it. Thanks for posting. CCH

Thanks buddy. I looked in Albert's button book and saw a similar button. Mine has a different backmark, though. Pre- Civil War, milita button.

Thats a beauty!

Cleaned up...

That is an Awesome button! I'd love to find one of those! Maybe I'll put that on my bucket list!!!!
