Hunt with the Golden

Well me and the Golden went hunting with Big Cat Daddy near one of the high schools in the area. I'm doing my jig to get the detector gods in my favor...

I hunted in the open playing fields as well as around some tree lines. BCD found a nice gold medallion but I was bust on gold today. I found a few coins and such and had a great time hunting with ol' BCD. Hope you all had a great weekend... HH TonyTX :)

Looks like yaw had fun.

I have tried ball fields. Last year I found a gold man's wedding band.

But that's about it, except for some clad.

I tried the girls softball field hoping for jewelry, but no luck.

But I don't give up easy. Them ball fields ain't heard the last of me.

HH,

Hope you been doing good. I haven't been posting much lately as I've had a nasty problem with my neck. I've been in pain for several months now. I did enjoy getting out doing a little detecting though. Looks like folks are doing pretty good around here with good finds. Guess I better try and pick the pace up or get left behind! :detecting: Thanks for the reply and good detecting to ya... HH TonyTX :)
Looks like a good hunt! Congrats on the digs! What is the silver item? Just wondering, Beale.
Beale, I wished it was silver! It is a high school award pin from 2004. I had hoped it was silver but no stamp and you can tell it is not precious when holding it. BCD did find a nice Mexican gold medallion. He didn't find a gold stamp on it but I'm pretty sure it is not plated. Here it is ....

We had a good breakfast and hunt today. I really enjoy the hobby whether I find the gold or not! :detecting: You never know what you will dig up or find..

Have a good one... HH TonyTX :)

The Goldens' chosen environment. Yeehaw.

Good start on a trove, Tony...

How long do you figure it takes for the shiny coins to get dark like that?
Your digs look very much like mine.
But you're lucky, no foil, and no tabs!

Looks like a big place...
Have you decided to grid it off, or do random areas???

Just NEVER know what you'll find at a school!

rmptr, Howdy! I think coins darken around here in a few years. I guess it depends on the type soil and such. I've noticed we do find similar items :) However, I just don't show the junk I've dug. I have plenty I can assure you! I'll throw in a picture next time... Thanks for the reply.... HH TonyTX :)
