Hunt with Ed from Upstate NY

First off, thanks Ed for making the loooong trek down here to Mass!

Ed and I hadn't hunted together for years, so it was very cool to spend the day out there. We hit a couple of parks in Pawtucket/Providence RI- sadly the finds didn't meet our hopes.

At the first site, I got what sounded like a clad quarter signal down just a few inches but after I cut the plug, there was a large silver disk sitting in the hole! Psyched, I called Ed over to check it out, but my joy quickly fizzled when, after seeing I had a Walker, I realized there was no date at all. We both checked it with my loupe- no damn date. Still today- no date! I've only found 6 of these in 20+ years and this is the first that was even close to not having a date- what a bummer!

That was it from park #1. Park #2 produced better, with a couple of Rosies, a 1905 Indian and 1914 & 1918 wheats.

I'm looking forward to seeing Ed's finds posted.

Thanks again Ed- hopefully we can do it again sooner versus later.

Looks like you guys had a memorable and enjoyable hunt. Nothing beats going out hunting with friends. Good times that will be remembered forever.
Although it doesnt have a date its a nice big chunk of silver that was lost a long time ago and still a great find.

Nice finds Jeff, big silvers are always a welcome sight! Three or four years ago I found 74 silver half dollars on a river shoreline, what a blast to find so many at one time..

Enjoy your next hunt........John in Va..

Thanks for showing me around the parks Friday. I had a great time and especially enjoyed the cookies ! We will definitely have to do it again in the Spring and hopefully we can get Todd and Tony a few others to join us. Was a long ride home. Hit snow in Western Mass on the pike and I was getting a little sleepy the last hour or so. Digging a couple silvers today helped my confidence !!!
