Hunting a totally vacant lot today and found very little. I did find this 1907 Indian and I swear this thing registered 01-36. It was laying almost on end next to a large nail. Not very deep but the reading almost threw me.

Funny you should mention the skewed reading. Tonight after work I dug an 1874 IH at around 9" with the Explorer and x-12 coil....with a dime size piece of jagged aluminum right in line with it about 2-3" down. The tiny hit squeak came through cuz I was running a tight pattern that got rid of small aluminum. Amazing FBS at work, gotta love it!

I am a firm believer that this Etrac thrives on Discrimination, unlike other Detectors.

I definitely need to stop cherry-picking the 40's, and start digging some of those consistent 30's numbers. A good lesson here. Congratulations.

You will find the 12-38s the most annoying as this is Screw Caps most of the time. Sometimes it is a Wheat. 34-36 is Rings, Indian Heads, some newer Zincs, and a lot of Copper or brass WHATISITs. 32-34 can be Rings, Tokens, or a Zinc but always good to dig.
