Well, my fifth visit at my church had me going 5 for 5 finding silver I'm happy to report! Despite rain the day before, the ground was fairly dry, I opted not to dig in the front where I had been finding pretty much all older coins and lots of silver. I hunted the side, the back, and under a shady tree by a gravel driveway that I know is used more frequently/recently. As a result, I picked up a lot of 60's penny's, as well as some clad dimes, zinc penny's, and a clad quarter. I did find my first silver quarter in this area as well, a little bit toward the "sweet spot" of the site. I also found two buttons in this driveway area. In the back I found the merc and the silver rosie. The rosie was reading underneath a 3" thick root. I had to dig on both sides to get it out, I almost gave up, not expecting silver in the back yard. Never give up, never surrender!! All in all, a long day, but my silver record is intact.
Thanks for looking,
Jai

[attachment 103556 090108HuntPics2a.jpg]The bottom button is covered in gold gilt I believe. The top button I think is pretty cool. When I first dug it up I thought it was some Indian Head penny token or something. However once I cleaned it off more, I realized it had a more Egyptian flavor to it. Not too old I don't think, but cool to me!
