Hunt #58

Yesterday hit the beach and nothing down there. Got 14 coins, that was it. Went to school that has 2 soccer fields. Pretty good day today and got junk ring # 7 with a cross on it. Thanks for looking....Z

Aint nuttin' wrong with that! How are your knees holding up?

Dahut my limit is about 70 knee bends for the day. After 70 I am pushing myself. I came home exhausted. I must of had 30 bad targets that I dug also. So I really over did it. I really only try to dig coins so I try to be as sure as I can before I get down there and dig those little moe diggers. I am trying to boost my nickel total so I have been digging more targets around 50 just in case its a nickel? Those wine bottle caps are real buggers to not dig, thinking, dimes. I guess I will get the hang of it sooner or later. I also stop and rest. I do enjoy the hunt. I always put coins out like the pictures because, easy to count and easy to check for older coins. I log the coins in and dump them in the tubs to be cleaned later. Thanks for looking....Z

The problem is there are too many trash items that mimic the good stuff. You cannot change that fact - they simply have the same conductivity.
A lot of trash acts like it, with bouncing cursors and fluttering audio, etc. But some, just sound good. Even with experience, there is only so much you can do.
Just ask John B or Big Cat Daddy.

You sometimes you are surprised by what you dig up and sometimes disappointed. A detector can only tell you what it "thinks" it might be but your digger can tell you exactly what it is. Now that John Edmonton, I'm pretty sure he could nail a pie plate to a stick, hook a couple of batteries to it and go find better stuff than most!!

You know, Zeekeys that's a darned good haul. Many playing fields are pretty compacted, not sure how those were, and digging can sometimes be a challenge.

It looks like a lot of coins spread out, but when you put them in a pile, they look like even more.

Nice job!

Mud I don't know if I should tell you this or not? Promise you will, tell not a soul? I never go into the playing field. I stay out side of the playing field. Certain spots. The players are playing with no pockets in there pants. They are told no jewelry before they go out and play.
I have become accustomed to around 50 coins in fields.
And in tot lots close to 100 coins. But again if you watch there too you can see where the coins will be? I live in a big city and a park or field can have 10 to hundreds visiting in a day.
BCD yes I know about John he is my inspiration. I would like to find as many coins (total) as he finds in pennies. Wow that guys is good. Of course BCD you are no slouch neither. You do very well. Thanks for your posts also. Great detecting skills.
Thanks for reading and Happy Trails....Z

I try to drive past those fields when they are having games to see where everyone is gathered. If a field isn't for organized games all the time there are often people playing a pickup game in street clothing. So it varies, but I much prefer spectator areas. I also treat the playing field very carefully during the season for that sport or just avoid them completely if digging conditions are not good.
