Well, went out for a couple hours today to see what I could find at a local park that has given up some Civil War relics. Last few outings I've found an officers button, coat weight buttons, flat top buttons, a cuff button for a military band, a cuff button for the PW&B railway, a knapsack/sword belt rivet, along with some other random older buttons, lead slag, and a strange piece ceramic spout with lead busting through it. Today wasn't any different, same area as the other buttons I found another, I think....

I believe the one on the left is a percussion cap for a cap & ball pistol, though I'm wondering how old it is. The button looking thing above the penny is made out of lead believe it or not. Anyone found or seen buttons made out of lead before? Doesn't seem too durable. Perhaps made out of a spent bullet? There are tool marks on it.
