Hummingbird Feeder...........

New member
Repaired my Hummingbird feeder yesterday, getting ready for their arrival in a few weeks. The original glass jar broke off at the neck and needed to be replaced. The bottle easily screwed into the base and I glued the top holder directly to the bottle with some Dow Corning Silicone Adhesive. I will probably hang it from the tree at the third week of March. Kelley (Texas) :)

I had one set up outside on the deck and caught this one day.
Considering they beat their wings about 80 times a second when hovering I am not surprised I could not see or catch them even with my Nikon.

I put the feeder out too late and not many Hummingbirds came to it. One day I tried to take a picture of one and came up with a bad, out of focus picture. Those little birds move so fast. Hopefully, this year I will do better and finally get a good picture of one. Kelley (Texas) :)

LOL!

Trust me, I know how lucky I was to catch one.
Those little suckers are skittish and FAST!

Looks like a good way to repair one to me especially if you have to empty the bottle first . Now if you leave the beer in the bottle the Hummingbird would be easier to take a picture of when he got done drinking and fall on the ground ... :beers: My hunting buddy who passed away about 3 years ago use to keep one right outside there front window , here is a picture he took of his feeder on September 8 of 2008 . I have seen them actually have fights for a spot on the feeder . Enjoy

I only had two or three show up last summer, but hopefully more will show up this year. They were too fast for me and I never got a good picture of them last year. Kelley (Texas) :)
