does anybody in the miami, florida, new orleans, where i suspect there is high humidity ,suffer with condesation, affecting the operation of their tesoro's detectors.i live in the far north of queensland, australia and in the wet here the relative humidity is well above the recommended optimum humidity of 75%.this morning after ground balancing, my vaquero started to crackle and pop.changed the battery.it then wouldn't turn on.i always carry two fresh spare batteries,so i changed to the other spare.it didn't work right off but after turning it on and off several times,it started to work again with a lot of quiet crackling.i had a similar problem a year or so ago and my retailer sent it supposedly back to tesoro to have the problem fixed.it came back working like a charm.so i'm thinking could humidity and condesation be my problem.have any of you who live in these areas had the same problems,if so what did you do to solve this.buy a different brand, move or what?bye for now, blowfly,hh

Always felt the weather and humidity and temperature changes and the like affected most brands but sounds like to me your unit is malfunctioning and needs a trip to the shop...to have the techs remedy the problem...

What about using some small Silica gel sachets to remove any moisture....might have to open the detector though.

Tony.

I understand something similiar is called for by some manufacturers in water units but would check with Tesoro before doing as many additives are not recommended by many manufacturers and could alter the workings of your unit...
