Huge coins question

Are there any bigger coins made - now or in the past - than these two ? They are almost exactly the same diameter, 1 3/8 inches. The bi-centennial coin first and a 1958 Mexican un peso second. The peso coin is not accepted any more as they changed to bi-metallic ones. It would be worth a dime today. These ones sure got me excited when they popped up !

that is just shy of 1 5/8" It looks like a 8 Reale but I am not sure of the country?
It says BURG-CO-TYR ARCHID-AVST-DUX with a date on one side and
R-IMP-HU-BO-REG M-THERESIA-D-G ON THE OTHER. It even has writting on the edges. Any ideas???

Hi Steve
To answer your question I think the Eisenhowers dolloar is the biggest US coin but there are bigger Foreign coins. I know there is a Spanish coin larger.
We had a club member here just find a Eisenhower dollar. If you found yours your only the 2nd one I've heard to find one. It would take just the right circumstances for some one to drop it, not know they droped it and for someone to not see it on the ground before it got covered up. Sure is hard to find coins the big. I've only found 5 half dollars ever. one being silver
What a great hobby we share!!

I dug this in a sand play area of a school. Once it hit the sand it was out of sight I'm sure. It sounded just like a coke can - thought it was at first. I have dug 17 half dollars - mostly silver - over my 25 years detecting. They sure are great to pop up, Steve in so az
