How's the T2 perform?

I currently use a Etrac and am thinking of going from it to a T2. I coin hunt with the Etrac and relic hunt with a Teknetics G2. I love the Etrac but my arm can't handle it any longer. So has anybody transitioned from a Etrac to a T2? I really like my G2 it's light as a feather.

I can't tell you the difference of the minelab, but I use CZ's & it's a big difference. The T2 is so much easier to swing. Ever with a big after market coil on the end.

My T2 is the best balanced for swinging of all my machines and no doubt it's the most capable performance-wise. I feel I've "mastered" my other detectors and generally run them at their "max" settings, but the T2 still has unrealized potential left on tap beyond what my hunting grounds and abilities can handle. Kind of like that monster car, if you "floor it" you can expect to notice the effect! Yet, I can swing it all day. Well, at least as long as this Official Old Fart's day usually lasts! :sleepy: LOL

...hey that rhymes . Junior I swing an Explorer but not as much as I was able to before . My T2 is now my primary detector . I have found it to be the best all-around land detector I have ever used . Both of these detectors make a killer team . You can cover a lot more ground faster and easier with it . It took me awhile to find what settings were right for me and get a good mastery of the tones but a little patience went a long way . I've found some great silver + gold with it . My last good silver coin I found with it was a 1940 Quarter at about 8" ( loud and clear) . This is a standard T2 .

Much lighter and incredible depth with the T2. The only area that I think the Explorer has it beat is with target ID. T2 is not as easy to tell trash from treasure, but I know I have found nice targets that I never would have dug with my V3i because it would have told me not to dig them.

I get much better ID on my standard T2 if I reduce the coil swing to a narrow "wiggle" right over the target. Used to be my method to ID and pinpoint was a pretty wide sweep that carried both outside coil edges well past the target's center. So it was something like an 18" to 24" wide swing. Narrow that down to just swinging the center rib over the target and see what that gets ya.

You might check out some of the DeTech coils. I hear some people are getting amazing depth and stability out of the 13" and the 12"x15".

I knew you would pull the trigger on that T2 soon. When are we taking it on a test drive?

Hopefully next weekend Ken if the weathers a willing!! I have been watching a ton of videos on YouTube on it trying to get familiar with it's operation. I know it's going to take a little getting used to but that's just part of the fun of getting a new machine. Ken if you want to try out my G2 your more than welcome to, you to may be in the market for a Teknetics machine they are a piece of cake to learn.

If you skunk me like this past weekend I may have to try that G2!

Had mine for a week and I gotta tell you, it,s a really great machine....still have to learn from it like all new machines, but it's actually not as bad as others I've had....I think you'll like it a lot!!!....Steve in Tenn.

I have used detectors since the late 1970s the T2 is no doubt the best machine that I have ever used.So easy to set up you do not need a degree to use it so much lighter than the Minelabs and I have used them as well. THe only other machine that came close in regard to ease of use was the Cibola now called Trident 1 but that could not mach the T2 in depth or target I.D. On the T2 I find that if you get a doubtful signal I then check the target numbers Under 35 its iron the high readings can fool you say 80 up can be tin cans!! around 70 its often a WW2 bullet but you have to dig to mack sure. The SEF coils do not work well on mineralized sites like the ones my Roman coins come from.I have by the way a T2 ltd and often use it in Boost GREAT

I just love the simplicity of setting up a very deep seeking detector, its light and can swing it all day without fatigue especially after using my DFX for many years.I wont ever part with my dfx as it is used mainly these days as a backup detector and haord hunter as it has the 18inch Detech coil on it.

The biggest problems with new user to the T2 is they tend to crank the sens up to a very high setting this inturn makes the machine unstable and they either think its faulty or it will be like that all the time,if only they drop the sens back down it will then run as smooth as silk and you wont loose a great amount depth wise if at all.

Mainly run mine at 75-75sens,10disc,2+ without doubt the best machine that i have owned.
