How's the stock shaft

on the Tiger Shark? You advise getting a straight shaft like all must do with the Excalibur or did Tesoro put a working shaft on i?

Mine is stock, I like it and feel no need for change. I hunt 2 to 4 hours without any problems, and once the detector is underwater it becomes nuetral in boyancy. I mount my control box under the arm cuff and it works out really nice. ..............Hombre

The Tiger Shark manual looks like shaft and mount are set up the same as the Sand Shark.

I've got a Sand Shark and with the detector box clipped on the upper shaft behind the arm cuff, it balances wonderfully. Controls are a little easier to reach with it mounted in front, but I put it where it balances well, set it up and go. I believe they got the shaft right and give you multiple mounting position options to choose your preferences.

I believe the two sharks are close to the same weight, so would expect both sharks to balance pretty much the same.

Would'nt it be great if Tesoro kept the public up to date on the status of the Tiger shark on their web page. No more rumors or guessing when the unit will be back in production.

I've been using my tiger box mounted on a beltk away from the shaft. Works fine that way.

Thanks all! Sounds like not only is the machine as good or better than the excalibur, it's less expensive and you don't need to get a $100 shaft after you buy it. Talked with Tesoro yesterday. They did get and try some new waterproof connectors, but when they ordered them to start manufacturing again, the vendor sent a totally different connector than the one sampled. So they are trying again. MAYBE in a couple of weeks they might start the production line on them again. Depends on the connectors and how well they test out. Jim
