First let me say that you guys take some really good pictures. I started posting to the garrett forum about a year ago but I have been a falconer for almost fifteen and have taken quite a few pictures over the years. I thought you might be interested so these are a few of the better ones. Metal detecting sure is a blast but during the winter months we go out and hunt for things more furry and less metallic.
I've never tried to caption multiple pics before so you may have to bear with me. The first shot is one of my redtails in training, she is coming to the fist for a piece of food.[attachment 126846 tothefist.jpg]
second is me and my bird(with bunny) and my hawking pals, also falconers, after a successful hunt[attachment 126847 pals.jpg]
third is a nice juvenile goshawk, not mine, I love goshawks but have never flown one, they are very nervous birds and can be difficult to work with.[attachment 126848 juviegos.jpg]
This beauty is a gyr/saker hybrid that belongs to a friend of mine[attachment 126849 gyrsaker.jpg]
and lastly, this is a longtime friend of mine who is not a falconer but is a raptor enthusiast. He started me on the path to falconry and I never looked back. This is one of the best pictures I have ever taken.[attachment 126850 goodfriend.jpg]
I hope no one was offended by these pictures. I know there are some folks who frown upon any sport that involves the use of animals and they are certainly entitled to their opinions. I've always loved hunting and I've always loved hawks so it only seemed fitting that I should hunt with one.
