Well I usually post on the beach & water hunting forum, but figured I would toot my Garrett horn today. Took the Mark II out for a spin last night in the surf, to see what I could sniff out. Began the hunt around 1030 pm into a 1209am 04-30 low and gave it up around 3am. The junker ring was my second target and this encouraged me to press on and see what else was there. Then around 1am got a nice soft tone and in my scoop was this nice ladies 10k diamond ring. Well I always tell myself in my mind when I see these come up "CZ", because of previous disappointments (when I got home and discovered the ring was 10k, I thought, no way it's cz, but checked the stones with my CZcheckpoint diamond tester and they are the real deal). Then around 30-45 minutes later another soft tone and out comes the men's 14k band. I was absolutely stoked. I don't ever recall finding more rings than clad, but last night it happened, with only 1 dime. I have been saving my clad in a coffee can because of John Edmonton's idea to save his and buy a gold coin every year (guess I better get busy at this rate). That way you actually have something to show for yer clad treasures; great idea John! Well guys I probably won't make a habit out of posting here, but ya'll could lurk over there in the other forum and check out my finds sometime if you are interested in water detecting. Contrary to what some may say the Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II is a weapon to be reckoned with in water detecting.GH
