How would you hunt an old cellar holes?

Hello All,
I use a XS-2 Pro with two coils, the BBS 800 and the BBS 10000.
I have a few cellar holes, two of good size with central hearths. I've been to both sites on a quick "cherry picking" check out trip with my 8" coil. Are you serious guys digging all signals because I figure it will take me years? In DISC mode at minimum reject, the Sov is in hard iron null most of the sweep. Even if I swing quite slow; around 4 sec to do a 4" sweep. I've dug a few holes and have found bits of rusted junk. I know from doing sporting fields for clad that even if the Sov is in hard iron null it still will do at least 4" swinging just slower than a Whites XLT! I've done the single swing listening for the tone of the returning threshold and I don't think anything is being masked by iron.
Man I sure would like the coins and am not so interested in the relics.

With my goals, equipment, and hunting conditions in mind, how would you approach these sites?

P.S. Thanks for steering me towards the Sovereign line. I really like the XS-2, my ears and brain call most of the shots:super:

I've seen this done a lot in my town in the 80s. With what you're working with you will have to remove as much iron as poss. Some times the iron is what you want to look for. It was common to conceal ones hoard in cast iron pots. They could recover with a magnetic compass (needle will fluctuate or point away from North. Honestly I've seen stuff found with a 2box in the 80s. There was always some sort of iron piece of junk or a horseshoe etc. just below the surface thus causing the compass to fluctuate. I hope this helps. And yes I have seen lots of neat things dug up. All I can say is DIG!DIG! Cellars are a favorite place for them to hide their loot.
