How will the Fisher buyout affect TROY?

 I noticed on some Troy detectors brochures that the Shadow units are "assembled and tested with Fisher Research Laboratory's traditional quality standards and are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty". Does anyone know how this will affect Troy detectors? Someone said that they are working on some new models and that new literature would be shipped out later. I hope this hasnt caused a problem for Troy. I hear they have some good units. HH :detecting:

In part this is what they are saying on the TCD site.

Many of you have heard by now that First Texas has acquired Fisher Labs, and may be wondering how this will affect the lifetime warranty on the Shadow X3 and X5. Please be aware that Fisher is well-stocked with Shadow X3 and X5 parts and will continue to honor the warranty as usual. In fact, it looks like customer service at Fisher will be improved. The new owners are very customer-service oriented and have initated a new policy for Fisher which will provide much quicker repair and service turnaround time, and this is good for everyone. For those who are not the original owners and require service or repairs, non-warranty service will continue to be performed by Troy Custom Detectors.

They haven't been manufactured for some time.

I'm sure the warranty part will still be covered by Fisher. Just like it would if it were a Fisher detector.

To be truthfully, I haven't ever heard of anyone needing warranty work on any of the TCD X3, X5's. The quality control was quite good on them, and the component quality is real good.
