how well does the sandshark work at the beach?

I am interested in a sandshark and would like to hear form some owners of the sandshark as to how well they work at the beach.. what depths are you getting, what configuration you are using ( hipmount, underslung or overslung) and general satisfaction with the machine... any info would be great,,,
i live in florida on the atlantic coast and i am very much considering adding one to my evergrowing stable of detectors....any hints or any comments about the machine positive or negative would be very much appreciated,,,

Herpcondo, The Sandshark works very well on our Southern California beaches, with good depth on very small objects. I've taken a few gold wedding bands with it, but haven't been at it that long in the wet sand or deeper. I'd say it works very well. Redlance

I was out last week for a few hours. The SS worked well, but I did not use the hip or chest mount which is something I'd like to try next time. It is well balanced, but I feel after a time the weight might be a little much for these old arms. Gary:clapping:

Most of the time I use the Sand Shark is where it is hard to tell depth because the sand fills in as soon as a scoop comes out or I can't see where I'm scooping. I have used it where the sand doesn't fill in and felt I was digging some fairly deep good targets. It will find deep hair pins, nails and other iron too. On the hair pins and nails, at least in one orientation to the target you get a double beep.

The indication to me that it does well is that I can take some of my other detectors out, set very low on discrimination, hit a section of wet sand or water and get a few targets. Then take the Sand Shark out and over a similar time frame get a higher good target count. Will also dig more small iron, but the Sand Shark does it's job.
