How well do the multi-tones work on Golden uMax?

I used meter-machines for 20 years, some having multi-tone audio features. I really like the Tesoros, and that's all I use now. I was wondering, however, how well the tones on the Golden help identify metals. To me, this would possibly be a great help for target i.d, without actually needing a visual. I am currently using a Silver and Cibola, most recently the Cibola(and liking it). Monte, if you're "listening", what do you think?
