How to stop interference noise on AT Pro

jimatpro

New member
My AT Pro gets lots of interference noise 90% of the time. I lowered the sensitivity and changed the frequency with no change to the noise. There is so much noise it drives me nuts. Does anyone else have this problem? I watch videos of people using the AT PRO and they seam to be doing good and finding lots of stuff.

Please help thanks

Try a different location, away from any above/blow ground power lines. That might at least direct you to th problem....either EMI or a bad coil.

I think I have seen this also.
I have corrected the problem by unscrewing the coil connector from the control housing, unplug the connector, and then plug the coil back in.
I suspect that the connector in the housing is the problem, as I have seen this with two different coils.
Not sure but I'm thinking some of the contacts in the connector might be stretched.
They also might be just oxidized, and by reinserting the connector, it reestablishes a good connection.
I had forgotten about this problem last fall until I read your post. I'm going to need to take a closer look before detecting season here in Canada.

Have you ground balanced it? If so increase or decrease GB and see if it helps...

Also, ensure that the coil is plugged in all the way. Sounds obvious, but it isn't necessary so.
Between the o ring and the placement of the connector, often the coil connector can be less than tight.
Finger tighten only! But tight nevertheless.

There are two places near me that I just cant hunt , the EM interference is just too extreme and even the frequency shift dosent help. Try a different area or two , if the problem persists there as well then it may not be normal EM interference but something with the detector itself. If the problem clears up in a different area then all fixed....you just cant hunt where the interference was too strong.

I had the same problem, I switched the Pro off and back on and then held the Power button for 5 seconds and returned the device to factory settings and it cured my problem.
