I am sorry if this question has been asked and answered and I thank you in advance for suggestions. I cannot edit any of my modes (ie; change to ground coin, seawater, ferrous coin etc). I have tried to reset the machine to see if that was the trick but that is not working! Any thoughts? Thanks, Peggy

How to reset the "edit" function

Have you done a full factory reset, Turn 3030 off, when you turn it on, continue to hold the power button in, after few seconds a menu will pop up and one of the options is full factory reset.

There's a quirk on the CTX that you have to select (and be running) a mode FIRST...only then can you go back to the select menu and choose to edit it to make changes.
(In other words, to edit any mode, you have to be running in it first....otherwise the EDIT function isn't available.)
Is that possibly the issue?

Dammit! Beat me to it AGAIN! That's what's going on, the mode HAS to be chosen first for the operator to actually edit said mode. Although you can scroll through them and look at them, to change anything requires that you select the mode and THEN edit as needed...excellent Mike!
Thank you for your responses. Treasure hunter nailed it! I was pressing the start button but perhaps too hard and too long. I did exactly what was recommended, it worked and now I am back to changing settings as I need to! I just moved from San Diego to Boise Idaho so different soils etc. etc. (and of course no more beaches!!!

Great to hear it is working for you. trojdor is correct, if you don't first select the mode you can't edit it, the edit icon is grayed out, unfortunately it is hard to tell it is grayed out for some people because it is only slightly gray.
