How to remove a stubborn coil cover without breakage

this method worked on my 7" wide scan & the 10 x 12 very nicely the 7" coil was really on hard there was no way it was coming off by hand, so i got a light paddle & something made of plastic with a nice 90 on it and gently tapped all around and it slowly came off millimeter by millimeter without breaking it thought i would share this , the wood i was tapping with is very light and something soft under the coil to allow the cover to creep off. Great idea & good job removing!

Good job, you made it look easy. I wonder how soaking it in hot soapy water would work?

A wooden dowel gently tapped around the covers edge with a rubber mallet hasn't failed me yet, work too
