Did you use the icon, at the top of the message compose window here on the forum, that looks like mountains and a sun? The tenth icon over, starting at the left?
If you have been using that icon, then you are doing it right. All you have to do is simply paste the URL where your photo is located, into the URL box (the URL entry box that pops up when you click that icon), and it should work. The only key is, you have to use the "correct" URL. For instance, if you use "postimages.org," like I do, to host your pictures, then once you upload the picture it gives you several options for URL codes, html codes, etc. for using your image on various webpages/forums. In this case, you choose the second option down -- not the first one (Link), but the second one -- which says "Direct link". You simply copy the URL in the "Direct link" box, and then paste it into the URL box that opens up when you click the "mountains and sun" icon here on the forum, and you should be all set.

You should be able to hit the ATTACHMENTS.... Upload File... in blue. Likely you need to RE-SIZE your picture. If you have the program PAINT its very simple. Bring up your photo from your pictures...... right click...... and hit the OPEN WITH.......Paint...... then resize is in the upper left side.
