How To Pinpoint With The ACE (For New users)

This system should work on all concentric coils, (not the DD design) First thing is to put a marker in the center of the forward inner toe. The true center can be made by tracing the coil on a piece of paper, cutting it out, folding it in half then placing it on top of the coil. I put on a happy face as my marker, and drew a straight line on the outer forward toe, just to help with positioning and centering. This setup works best shallow targets. For deeper targets, use this link supplied by Garrett.

John,
Why does Garretts show the point to be where the little notch is and you show it where the happy face is?

I had a heck of a time pinpointing with the ace at first. But after awhile I got it down.
I believe if you detune the coil, you will find the target up on the "front inner coil" where you see the happy face.
I don't detune anymore. I seldom need to do that.
I always find the target now, just about an inch in front where the notch is.

Yeah as I always say, the deeper the target the farther back from that mark you move. But most targets wil fall under thatbmark.
