How to keep the 13" Ultimate coil clean?

There is a protective coating you can buy for car rims that you spray on and it will seal them and make dirt easy to wash off by just running water over it. That's what I'd do. Never understood why companies make white coils.

I don't care what my coil looks like as long as it functions.

The dirt is a badge of honor only earned by use!

It's a compulsive disorder, as I have to keep everything clean and it will help with resell value if it looks clean/new.

Confusus say----Man with dirty white coil is man finding MAAANY goodies!!!------I'll bet Kellyco is going to get the black ones in on future orders. (yes, Detech is making black ones now to).----The black ones get dingy looking with use to though.---I don't worry about it, as long as that baby is bringin me in the goods, I don't care if it's a dirty purple.

Scuff it up so the paint will stick good....spray it with a light coat first...let it dry...then spray with another coat...let it dry...then spray with another coat til it ain't white any more. Then put a clear coat on it or leave as is. Make it any color you want it to be. I might paint mine florescent green when it gets here. White is a good base coat for florescent colors.

LOL, but that is a good point regarding resale value - Though I have a feeling the new E-Trac will use the old coils unless it really is a leap! I haven't used my 13" much and it sure does attract dirt. Might have to try putting a finish on it.

RESALE?! Who in thier right mind would ever sell thier E-Trac? Hell no, treat that thing like an Afghani AK-47; carve it, paint it, decorate it, MAKE IT YOURS!

Not the E-Trac, the coil. I would NEVER sell my E-Trac unless it was for a new E-Trac.

Here's another idea. I'm a big fan of using spray on bed liner on the bottom of my coils to save some weight (and hassle) of using coil covers. Never thought of using the stuff to change the color of the entire coil top and bottom like this guy did with his WOT coil. Check this out. Now that's a good looking coil. Never did care for the orange color of the WOT. It made it look cheap to me. I bet that 13" coil would look killer painted this way. And don't think this stuff is just going to peal or scratch right off. If you prep the coil right (light sanding and cleaning) this stuff is VERY durable...

You're right, that is one nice looking coil.
