How to keep sand from freezing up lower rod

Blink

Member
I read that many of you have had a problem with sand freezing up you lower rod. Here is what I have been using and it works great. Go to a Tractor Supply store or other horse supply store and get yourself a roll of Co-Flex wrap used for wrapping horses lower legs. Start wrapping it around the rod from the controls to the coil. Cover both cams. It will stick to itself and make a neat wrap. I also use it to wrap my grips to keep them from getting dirty.

See the two pictures as to how it should look. I have removed my lower rod after using it in the water and I have never had any trouble with sand freezing up the lower rod.

Hope it works as good for you as it has me.
