How to increase hits...

WaterWalker

Well-known member
It is beyond my comprehension how the original post can have several hundred to over a thousand views yet the threads seldom get 1/10th of the hits that the original post gets.

It is my experience that I gain more information and knowledge form the threads than I do form the original post.

If you are one that only looks at the original post and moves on, please tell me why?

Is it because you have no interest in the subject, it is too difficult to navigate the threads, or could it be the way the forum counts views that made me post this?

Thanks for adding in your two cents worth which might help others and myself to understand this phenomena and aid in getting our threads more hits.

Sometimes a thread or threads is a conversation between a small group of friends and so I do not poke my nose in . If the thread is wide open then I contribute if I think I have something that might be of help.

Well after one week:

Only two members have posted an answer. My original post had 248 hits, James02 had 30 and Fishers Ghost a whopping 867 hits

I'm not an ATX owner and have never seen one in the flesh. I read the forum to gain as much info on the machine as possible whether it be good bad or indifferent. I do not feel I have anything to contribute that would be of value to ATX users.

Any new detector that comes onto the market of course people are interested in reading either the spec or reviews prior to possibly purchasing one,as they had been initially launched in the US and Aussie land some time before arriving over here in the UK.So of course you wont find a great amount of input aprt from asking the odd question or 2,its alot of money and also as its aimed mainly at gold nugget hunting you wont find a big audiance over here as its a specialised machine and not your every day detector.

I will admit i have also followed this thread, mainly at this stage to see what the detector can or cannot do and also the reliabilty of this detector,so of course i cannot give a great amount of input because as someone else has mentioned i have never seen one or held one either. It sound like a very capable niche detector and that is all i can say at this moment in time.

You will always find the same with any new high end detector, its starts out slowly and after initial feedback starts appearing then you will also find that sales will start increasing pro rata, this in turn will lead to some more people posting on the good and bad points.
