Hello all,
Being new to this i am looking for some pointers. I have attached a couple of images of the park in Andover Illinois. This is a small town with a long and rich history. the first image is an aerial photograph from 1937 overlaid onto the current park, image two is the same overlay but is transparent.
My questions to the group are these.
1. Does this look like a good area to hunt after obtaining permission?
2. How would you hunt this area? The tree lines along the ball-field that were there in 37 but are no longer there look good to me.
3. What kind of targets would you be looking for?
4. What kind of setting would you use on your machine? What would you notch/discriminate out?
5. What else should i be asking?
I am tied to a desk most of the day at work so i think a little bit of "armchair" detecting could be good for not only me and other newbies but possibly others as well. I have not seen any other threads like this one on the Internet and hope this starts a lively and active discussion.
If anyone else would like help with overlaying let me know the area and i can see what i can dig up for you. Ha Ha "dig up", did not really intend that to be a pun.
Thanks
