How to find a cast iron pipe?

Swordfish3117

New member
Hello,

I need help in setting the Spectra V3 to find a cast iron sewer pipe that's somewhere in the floor.

I am new to this kind of equipment and would appreciate advice in how to set V3 to pinpoint that
pipe - actually it shows a lot of metals in the floor, the thing is how to discern the cast iron pipe from
all the rest.

Any ideas,

Regards :)

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to search indoors for any types of metal due to the high amount of EMI. Depending on the depth of the pipe, you may be able to find it by lowering your sensitivity down to reduce this interference. Then you will need to reject all targets from 0 to +94, since you do not want to find any conductive targets.

Go to your local rental yard and get a pipe locator. http://www.drainbrain.com/geneye/index5.html
