How to do a Reset on a Land Ranger

Jeff63

New member
I can't find my manual and haven't used this detector for the past 4 yrs how can I do a factory Reset on it. It's still in great shape and I'm considering selling it.

I just scanned the manual on the bounty hunter website and I can't find any reference to a factory reset. Sorry I couldn't help.

Why do you need to reset it?

never heard or resetting one but if there is such a thing probably removing the battery should do it let me know what you want for the unit should you decide to sell it thanks

As far as I know it resets each time you turn it off.

The dial at the bottom always sits to the far negitive bottom and doesn't go to the 0 at the top like it use to. It's an excellent machine and in great shape. I got it new while on vacation in florida 7 or 8 years ago,I'm 65 yrs old and my health is going south so I thought I might sell it to someone who could use it. I paid around $440 for it with the 4'' gold prospector coil. What do you think its worth today. Its above average condition also headphones too.

Jeff, I'm sorry to hear that you are having health issues. I hope things turn around for you.

As far as the dial at the bottom, if it is the one in the center, I believe that is a good thing when the indicator stays on the negative side. If I remember correctly from my days of using my Time Ranger, which is very similar to the Land Ranger, that would indicate very low ground mineralization. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I'm not sure what is worth. It is a discontinued detector as far as I know. I seem to remember that some guys were buying Time Rangers under $200 new a while back when they were being closed out. I have seen a couple of used Land Rangers for sale for a lot more but that seems overly optomistic to me.

Hope this helps you and may your health improve.
