how to detect depth with garrett gti 2500

Hi
Garrett Gti 2500 shows Only depth upto 12" and for higher depth it just says that it is above 12" .
How can I determine exact depth above 12" ?
thank you

I dont believe you can, Ehsan. That is the limit it can identify. You now have to learn how a VERY deep target reacts, like some of the large pieces you are looking for. Next time you dig a deep hole, put something like you want to find in it - and cover it up!

Then see what your detector says. Then imagine that it has been in the ground for 1,ooo years. This is not going to be easy, my friend. If it was, everyone would do it. :)

Do NOT give up, my friend. I expect BIG things from you.

You can't Ehsan as that is as deep as the 2500 will record on the display, although it will detect deeper than that. You'll just have to go with 12 inches or deeper. Good luck.

Bill

Actually, you could dig out the first foot, and lower the coil into the hole and check again. Repeat till you get less than 12". Now add the prior diggings and the new depth reading together to establish the overall depth..........
