How to, "De-tune" a Garrett Pro Pointer Video

Yogi Bear

New member
Hi everyone,

I made a You tube video today about, How to, "De-tune" a Garrett Pro Pointer.

"De tuning" will help speed up target recovery.

It works with other pin pointer too. But, not all of them.

Happy hunting!

Thanks Yogi! I had been looking at the garrett pin pointer and wondered if it's range would be a hinderence sometimes. This helps a lot!

You did good:clapping:

:usaflag:Nice tip. Will have to try it out tomorrow...thanks !

Hey McDave,

Great! let know how it works for ya!

I "De tune" Pro Pointer maybe twice on each hunt...

There ain't nothing hindering about the Pro-Pointer. :) That's why it's the most popular pointer out there. Over 30,000 people have read the field tests at the top of the page.

Hello everyone,

Before I made the How to, "De-tune" a Garrett Pro Pointer Video I made this one.

As, I check the stats on this video at You tube... I noticed that viewers were re-playing the portion where I "De Tuned" the Pro Pointer. (I thought that was kinda interesting)

So, this is the first video where used "De tuning" in small hole in the field. Garrett ACE 250 / Clad Hunt

Happy hunting!
YB

BTW: When I say the the signal is jumping all over or is "Jazz Up". What that is really called is "Over Load" the target is over loading the coil signals...
Always investigate over load signals! :detecting: HH

:usaflag:De-tuning works like a charm...makes it twice as easy to pinpoint...thanks again.

Hey, great youtube videos!:clapping:I really enjoyed watchin'.:thumbup:Well done!:garrett::detecting:Thanks for sharing!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

Yeah detuning is an old trick used on detectors for ages to narrow the signal down.

Bill

Hi Bill,

It sure is "an old trick!"

For years I worked with a bunch of "Old Guys". That always talked about metal detecting and there hunts on the weekends. They would leave copies Treasure Hunting Magazines around the shop. I could always find time to read a copy or two. I would ask lots questions. I learn one heck of lot about Metal Detecting from those "Old Guys".

Now, I'm the "Old Guy" and I just love Garrett Metal Detectors. :garrett:

Thanks for watching the video and letting me tip my cards a bit...

Good Luck and HH,
Yogi B

PS: Young guys should talk with old guy. Because, they know stuff!
