how to clean coins without the use of a tumbler

I wouldn't use any cleanser on good coins. They are much too abraisive. A better solution is to just use some dish washing liquid and warm water rubbing the coin between your fingers. If that don't work then use a soft coth to wash the coin. Just don't use anything that may scratch it. Good luck.

If it is a key date coin you don't clean at all. I put my indian head pennies in boiling hydrogen proxide. But soap and water is what I use on most coins. Silver scratches very easily.

Dirty clad?
Get coin roll wrappers from bank and deposit the dirty clad in rolls
I love it when I see a dug coin back in local circulation.
And I have :)
