How to check the G2 software version?

I've read posts of other people mentioning the software version of their G2. How do I go about checking the software version?

I just bought a used G2 so I am curious.

Turn the unit on while depressing the pinpoint button and continue to hold the pinpoint button depressed until you see the software version.

Thanks for that info tabman! It appears I have version 1 ( like most others).

BTW, I read another post of your's yesterday dealing with the new 5 x 10 dd coil. You mentioned you knew of a place for a great deal on it.
I would have sent you a PM but apparently I don't have that feature as I am too new. Is there a way you can give me that lead?

I'm not sure how many posts or how much time you need to before you're allowed to PM. Apparently more than you have now, so get to posting.:)

I have version 4 on my Gold Bug Pro.

From what I've read, it's 30 days.

...buts that's fine, keep your info. I'm not broke but whenever I can save a buck in this economy I go for it.
