How safe is using a gas powered Hookah unit? Air quality?

Hi everyone I wanted to buy a hookah unit from Airline and they have the electric powered and gas unit. I was wondering how safe is it to use the gas powered one because it lasts longer and it is lighter. Just have hesitations because of the exhaust coming out of the engine and I don't want to get carbon monoxide poisoning!! Hope to hear everyones comments on this subject! Aloha

If you use a gas powered Hooka it is best to use a snorkle for the air intake. Leave the filter in place and attach it. One can be made from PVC tubing to get the air intake up and away from the exhaust of the motor. In open air situations like the ocean you shouldnt have any problems with carbon monoxide poisoning. Only time I got it was when I was dredging for gold in a very small creek with alot of trees around and no wind blowing in to refresh the air. Gas is the way to go with hooka if you are not concerned about noise. Make sure you get an extremely HIGH quality hooka regulator. Proline Mining sells one of the best hooka regulators. JMO. TNBob

Most good gas hookah units have an air snorkel...a three foot pvc or plastic pipe that pulls the air in from above the exhaust. I have a Brownies third lung and use it weekly in the keys. The only thing you have to make sure of is that you dont run it in a closed space, like inside a center console boat with deep gunnels, that could potentially trap the gas. Hope this helps.
