How practical is a Whites.....................

Jimmy Sierra SST for park hunting. I was quite sure I'd get one until a friend of mine insisted that for park hunting it would be impractical. Now I'm not so sure. He said the SST was designed by a guy who hunts farm fields in England where targets are far apart. And that by having only an all metal mode, the SST is not very useful in most applications. Most parks in US and Canada are littered with trash, and with no way to silence the signals you'd be getting headaches every time out.Is there anyone using an SST for park hunting? Is there anyone out there who owns an SST? What can you tell me about your park hunting experiences....................should I still go ahead with my purchase?? I throw my self upon the mercy of the court. Thanks for your advice.

I'm with your friend on this one. There's many detectors that would be a better match for hunting coins and jewelry in the USA. Look at the M6 or MX5. If you're planning on any relic or nugget shooting besides, then the MXT Pro would be a better fit.

The SST is just a stripped version of the M6 that has no disc. Basically an all metal accept machine. Like Tom said above I would go with the M6 or MX5 and have far more/ better options. The SST would be a nightmare hunting a trashy sites.
