HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY DETECTOR GET A TUNE-UP?

I was wondering how often should you send your detector to the MFG. to get a so called tune-up? I use my Whites 3-4 times a week and live in NewEngland so winter would be a good time to do this, I want to protect my investment so advice would be appreciated. Also any idea of the cost to do this? Thanks all.

I believe that if it ain't broke don't fix it. You take a risk every time you send it in the mail.

I LIKE TO HAVE MINE CHECKED OUT RIGHT BEFORE THE WARRANTY RUNS OUT..I LIVE IN NEW ENGLAND TOO I HUNT SALT WATER AND FRESH WATER...I HUNT ALL YEAR SO ANY TIME OF YEAR IS TOUGH...I SAY SEND IT IN IF ITS UNDER THE TWO YEAR WARRANTY TIME:thumbup:...IF YOUR PAST THAT TIME....DO WHAT YOU FEEL...IF YOUR NOT USING IT..MIGHT AS WELL:smoke:

Beach Hunter,
That makes sense to me about sending it in right before the warranty runs out. Maybe I need to follow your lead?

Might want to email the manufacturer to check for upgrades once a year also..

Thanks, that advice makes sense, I ll wait till warranty is almost up.

For sure just before the warranty runs out, other than that I agree with khouse, "If it ain't broken, don't fix it"

me too, khouse got it right, if it ain't broke don't fix it
