HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY DETECTOR GET A TUNE-UP?

I was wondering how often should you send your detector to the MFG. to get a so called tune-up? I use my Whites 3-4 times a week and live in NewEngland so winter would be a good time to do this, I want to protect my investment so advice would be appreciated. Also any idea of the cost to do this? Thanks all.

I believe that if it ain't broke don't fix it. You take a risk every time you send it in the mail.

I LIKE TO HAVE MINE CHECKED OUT RIGHT BEFORE THE WARRANTY RUNS OUT..I LIVE IN NEW ENGLAND TOO I HUNT SALT WATER AND FRESH WATER...I HUNT ALL YEAR SO ANY TIME OF YEAR IS TOUGH...I SAY SEND IT IN IF ITS UNDER THE TWO YEAR WARRANTY TIME...IF YOUR PAST THAT TIME....DO WHAT YOU FEEL...IF YOUR NOT USING IT..MIGHT AS WELL

That makes sense to me about sending it in right before the warranty runs out. Maybe I need to follow your lead?

Might want to email the manufacturer to check for upgrades once a year also..
