How often are new Detectors released

Dan-o

New member
Since just getting back into detecting again this past fall I have familarized myself with all the new models. When I stopped detecting I think the XLT was Whites top of the line and they had just release the Quantum series.
I see a lot of new models by Whites and Minelab etc.. so it has been fun looking at all the new stuff, although some Brands have not really released new models as they are just updated models. Updated stuff is great when it greatly improves it's performance.
So how often do companies release updated models like the Quatro updated to the Safari and how often do they relese a new model such as Whites V3?
Just curious.

Hi Dan I will take a crack at this . It depends on the company but 5 to 10 years seems to fit the time frame
Tesoro has not put out anything new for some time
Garrett Ace and Pro pointer seem to keep them going
MineLab and Whites seem to be king of the re wrap . While both have some new top of the line detectors
both have done some coil swaps and minor tweaking and Bang a new model.
Fisher / Teknetics seem to be out front with about 10 new models in the last few years.
I do not mean to say just because its older is not as good . I have a CZ70 that can still keep up with the new kids.
But at the same time to hear detectors have reached there max performance, maybe but you will
never know unless thy try HH Mike
