How much deeper is the AT Gold in all metal mode with Iron disc on?

I'm really wondering how much deeper the AT Gold is in all metal with iron on than than the AT Pro in Pro Custom with iron on using the same coil..

[size=large]it's always about the settings and if you get the machines to be set at their max you still don't know. the ATG hasn't been out to be really tested against the pro. the science is, the more the khz the less the depth. but these two have some differances that may affect the outcome. all that's out right now is hype. the same b.s. hype as last year. it's gunna do this and that and i gotta have one. i have to ask just how many of those who just have to have one, prospect? that's what this machine is being sold as. the ATP was suppose to be the best all terrain RELIC and COIN machine.
your all grown-ups. look past the hype. i for one hate hype.business must sell products so all we can do is wade through it.

That is a impossible question to answer. Depends on ground low conductive target or high conductive target. You can do air test but they only give you a idea of what the detector can do. Targets are in the ground. I will say that if you plan on hunting gold brass relics or other low conductive targets the Gold may be worth while. Coins I do not know that there will be much depth advantage. Depth is not the big thing to many folks get caught up in the depth thing. There are many great targets still hiding just a few inches deep In iron and other trash. The AT pro is still a great detector the AT gold is just different.

There shouldn't be any difference in depth. It's like adding or removing notches on other Garrett machines. Only the audio is affected, not the depth. However, on many metal detectors, with a rotary knob for changing discrimination settings, the more you advance the knob to knock out more conductivity, the greater loss of depth you will incur.

On other detectors true all matal usually can go 3"+ deeper than disc. So the AT Pro doesn't hasn't have true all metal and gold does. So it seems like the all metal mode will go deeper unless it is all different on these Garretts.

The true all metal will go a bit deeper. I need to use mine a bit more before I can really make a for sure statement on that though. It is made to be more sensitive to low conductive smaller size targets. It is a tool to use for certain situations. There is no detector that is perfect for every thing. It is like being a bass fishing pro with only one lure. Sure you can still catch some fish on that one lure but it is not going to be the best thing to catch fish all the time. Again depth is not the most important thing the ability to tell you a good target is there is much more important. If you want depth get a PI run it wide open and dig every thing.

[size=large]now just to be fair here. Fly fishing is the same way. not all fish will strike the same fly.

Well stock coil to stock coil the depth winner is the Pro just because its stock coil is much bigger. Comparing both 11" coils I'd say they would be close of not even Maybe an inch more in all metal for the gold.
