How many wore cuflinks in the Civil War?

Would officers wear them?

I am seculating, but I found an antique cuff link at the battle of Ball's Bluff site, 40 feet from where a Colonel Edward Baker was buried. Maybe it was his? He was a personal friend Of Abe Lincoln. Wish it was engraved. LOL
