I do when I am in a cleaner area away from trash targets.

I use it almost exclusively (around 90%) of the time. According to Nokta's manual, the '5' is best for deep silver and I have definitely hit 7 to 9 inch silver very solidly. Also at this frequency, I can run the sensitivity at 99 and it runs very quiet.

I haven't yet, thought about it because I sold a GoldBug Pro (19Khz) to a club member with a 5" coil. She is having difficulty getting, upset her head around finding lots of small foil, canslaw and other junk and only a few coins after using her Fisher F2 for a number of years. With the F2 she says she finds 50% less trash, at least 20 coins, maybe a silver ring each outing. The F2 is at think 6Khz. Had to explain frequency selection to her. Will have to show her how to et the GB up and to ID targets from trash better, it can be done, had no problems with the GBP.

So yes, I will try 5Khz with the Impact and see if it makes much difference in what I find.

I found a very small silver coin in 5khz the other day , on a well hunted patch of land , the 5 KHZ frequency is my choice if deeper silver is the target.
I tested some gold rings the other day and found 14 Khz seems to give the best response! Not 20 Khz which surprised me..

The member to which you sold the GoldBug should be doing much better on coins especially clad. My F19 equals or bests my F5 almost every time for coin shooting. For silver, the lower frequency machine has what I would consider a small edge but for everything else, the higher frequency machine can meet or beat it. She should put an 11 DD coil on it first. The small round coil on that detector is attracted to minute things in the ground. Tell her not to get discouraged. Used right, the 19 kHz Fisher/Tek machines are coin hounds.

Yes she should be doing better, it was a clad magnet for me with the 5" coil. She is not used to having a more complicated detector to use, she finds using it a bit intimidating. Told her I can give her some lessons.
Unfortunately, only had the 5" coil to sell with it. Had a NEL Sharp for it at one point.
