make use of the adjustable threshold and volume controls to optimize performance as shown by the graphics in the manual? For instance the other day with the volume set at 22-23, threshold at 3-4 and headphones (Koss QZ-99's) adjusted to a comfortable level it "seemed" to help make the shallow surface iron responses more comfortable to listen to while hunting in all-metal. I got to thinking (usually a dangerous thing for me) and remembered what I has read about one of the european detectors having a seperate volume control for the iron responses. How many of you that are all-metal (0 disc) hunters think this would be a good idea? It would be a lot quicker and easier to simply lower the volume on iron tones than trying to find that "just right" combination of threshold/volume.

Andy has stated there is little difference in performance with the threshold at 0 vs audible settings for typical hunting so why not make it simple by adding a adjustable iron volume control.

Just food for thought.
