MY FATHER ALWAYS TOLD ME TO "MAKE THE MAN A HAND".I NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHAT HE MEANT UNTIL 1961, I WENT TO BURAS LA.TO FIND WORK..STARTING AT 4AM WE SAT IN SHERFIELDS CAFE AND DRANK COFFEE TO WATCH THE FRONT DOOR..A PARTY FOREMAN WOULD COME IN,STAND IN THE DOOR WAY AND SAY HOW MANY WORKERS HE NEEDED,,WE WOULD HOLD UP OUR HAND,IF HE CHOSE YOUR HAND YOU GOT TO WORK THAT DAY.
MAY THOSE DAYS NEVER RETURN TO SOUTH LA. AGAIN... GOD BLESS...HENRY

seems no one wants to work. They just want to collect benefits they didn't earn or deserve and complain if things aren't 'their way'. There are those who 'want something better' after they lose a job and take nothing since they find nothing is better than what they had lost and then there are those who will take anything they can get because they want to work, support their families, pay bills and be productive members of society.
The 'world' vs those 'not of this world'.
