How many of you have bought NEW (from a dealer) Tesoro units in the last 5 years?

I was looking at my Tesoro use.

I can count 18 instances of where I've owned Tesoro detectors since 2004.
Of those 18, Five of them were obsolete units (not in production anymore)
Of those 18, Two were multiple repeats (7) where I tried to make them work for me (4 Cortes, 3 Tejon)
Of those 18, One was a repeated buy to replace it when I sold it when I needed cash (3 Golden uMax)
Of those 18, Two were for my wife (Compadre).

And of those 18, only one, my current new toned Golden uMax was actually bought new in the box from a dealer.

So while I have owned and used many Tesoro units, I guess I have only actually supported Tesoro once.

Is this unique, or is this common?

Woulda never used one if a guy here in East Texas hadn't had a free clinic trying to sell his Tesoros. I still wasn't impressed as I had a Garrett GTA and was actually doing well in his clinic while the newbies were struggling. Then a guy had financial probs and I got a Royal Sabre for $75 and was really impressed. So this guy got an order from me-his clinic paid off! Then the Silver Sabre went bonkers-was sent back 4 times and they claimed nothing was wrong. My dealer felt bad but I had enough taste of the Tesoros I talked him into just trading me for a Silver umax and he even threw in a 4" coil. I put off buying the Compadre until I couldn't stand the hype anymore and the first of this year bought the Compadre. It's my favorite.

Silver, Compadre, & Vaquero all new & all from dealers with websites. There is a Tesoro dealer in a nearby town but his prices are a bit steep.

There aren't a lot of used detectors advertised around here.

The only used machine I've bought is a Garrett (a trade-in) from a local dealer.

Both of my tesoros have been new from a dealer the last a cibola was purchased in nov of last yr and the DeLeon I had was bought about 6 or 7 yrs ago.

Lets see first ever new owned Tesoro was a Deleon ,sold it shortly after,didn't work in soil here.Currently have a used Tesoro made Troy X2 . So far one Tesoro dealer new,and one used .Looking at in future new Compadre will be dealer.

Bought new vaquero from a dealer traded it and regretted that. Bought a used vaquero and just bought a new golden from a dealer.

I've owned 3 Tesoros:

1. Used Super LOBO, had to buy a new coil because the first one had been damaged.

2. Used from a Whites Dealer Conquistador uMax + Clean Sweep coil.

3. New from dealer Vaquero (bought with gold & silver) Did that make it a deal, smoken ! + 5.75 inch hot coil.

In the last 5 years, two...Cibola in 2006 and Golden Umax (my second) 2011. These, and all my other Tesoros (Eldorado, DeLeon which I still have, and Tiger Shark, Silver Sabre II and Tejon plus a Silver U max for my daughter which have been traded on other Tesoros over the years) have been brought from a Tesoro dealer...all were new except the Silver Sabre II. To clarify, I still have the Eldorado, DELeon, Cibola and Golden Umax. HH

It took me a long time to buy my first tesoro....
I started detecting with a garrett in 1988 r so.
Some time in the 1990's i bought a stingray, then a diablo umax..both from dealer.
So the Diablo I think to Monte actually.For 2 compadres.
Then got a silver umax...through a dealer.
Then traded the silver and got an eldorado.
The a used bandido 2 umax
They were both stolen and Friends on the Tesoro forum Got me a Cibola.
Then I had finally gotten onto ssi and bought a used Golden umax.
Then found sombody to sell me another diablo umax.
So I've bought 3 or 4 through dealers.

But did Buy the Cutlass II and The Bandido II brand new in the early 1990s.
Have purchased 2 used a Bandido II uMax and a Silver in the last 5 years from a dealer.
