I'm really getting interested in it. I'll have plenty of time very soon to do things, finally.
Appreciate any tips or comments.:detecting:

Bottomfeeder, Don't know what, "..plenty of time very soon.." means? But, if getting out of the cold up north and heading down to dig for golden treasure and to DH where it's warm, that's my style. I'm an up NW DHer (Wa State) who spends all winter in Ore, Calif, Arizona & New M looking for gold and tokes of coins. While a pan is a mandatory item so is my nugget finding stick (Whites Goldmaster), a drywasher and a highbanker along with my Excel For lakes/pond visits and my DFX for field work.
Small gold is where it's at and I find plenty of that 20/22K stuff right out of the ground. It's just as much a thrill panning the products down to find the gold as pulling up a scoop with a nice golden ring. Retirement is great and my wife equally enjoys prospecting for and finding the gold. Many of the spots we visit are great DHing too. Can't beat it! With the price of gold hovering near $500/oz we usually pay for a good share of each winters stay with our coin and gold toke. Got lots of stories and memories but won't bore you more. HH and come down and join us!

Jim, Didn't tie you're previous retirement post to this post, DAH! Congrats on your retirement. I "graduated" 10 years ago from Boeing (after 40 years)and love every minute of it! I'm posting my yesterdays finds (now in the smoker)to show how great the extra time off really is.
Well, if you're that short, you have no excuse in hitching up the trailer and joining us in Arizona. Leaving shortly after Christmas. Drop me a line if you need someone to show you through the prospecting and winter survival hoops! HH
