How many hints does it take?

MrGee

New member
Had about an hour after work today and decided I'd better go out one last time. I was out for about 20 minutes when I noticed that my 250 was showing less than half on the battery indicator. so I'm thinking that it is a hint that my season is over. No sense putting in new batteries when it's so late in the season. Decide I'll dig one more nice bell tone on the way out. What I found was a piece of aluminum siding...with my index finger. Laid it open pretty good. So, is that a sign?

Yeah. Gloves are a finger saver. I see guys scooping dirt out of their holes without gloves on You Tube, and I cringe, because I know they are going to get cut sooner or later.

There are some nasty bacteria living in the soil which can cause a lot of problems if they get into your blood. Be careful. Tetanus & schistosoma are a couple of concern in noth America.

Don't forget those crackhead needles. Scan a needle and either remember the tone and number or put it on a piece of tape and attach it to your detector. If you have'nt dug one you probably will. Wear gloves they could save YOUR life. They won't stop a direct puncture from the needle but if you suspect one in the hole be very careful and by all means if you find one dispose of properly.

We've had some odd weather here in Indiana. It was 65 degrees yesterday and is predicted to
remain the same for the rest of the week but I have the sick feeling we are going to get dumped on
with a huge snow storm before winter is done. NOT looking forward to it.

Not a sign or a hint of anything other than needing rechargeable batteries.
